Family Portrait Artist,

You are trawling this blog, typing in pleasantries related to the blog post but with no value or knowledge whatsoever in order to provide links to your website.

From now on your comments will be deleted. Unless of course you gain a sudden real interest in ICANN and its work and start posting relevant comments. We hope you do.

Congratulations. This sounds like an excellent opportunity for you and a very significant post. In general, as I have learned about ICANN I have become more and more convinced of its importance in the development of a global economy and international relations generally. No one could deny that the web has brought us all closer together, uniting people across borders. Yet not as many people realize that ICANN is behind the scenes making sure this process works. Further, it seems to me that liaison officers have an especially important part to play since they coordinate cooperation among various nations in terms of the internet. If, as I do, you believe that the web is increasingly where all social and economic development will occur, then in many ways this position represents a kind of proto-ambassador of sorts, a chance to dictate how the world will develop in the future. And finally, this is a particularly tricky part of the world to deal with, and so I would imagine that anyone who was selected for this position would have to be incredibly skilled at the job.

Veni

Thanks for this post. I'd encourage others to look closely at the work of the Regional Liaisons led by Theresa Swinehart, ICANN's Vice President Global and Strategic Partnerships.

The work they do is fundamental to outreach, engagement and feedback globally.

We look forward to your contribution Veni in this incredibly important area.
