Hello,
i'm french, i beg your pardon for my englsh.
I think it's a good thing to create specials domain name.
The XXX domain is one of the possibility.

I'm not agree with 2 cents.
I want to have the possibility to see the channel i want. If anyone want to see a porn siet, they do...
In fact, i would that the ICANN go must far.
Why don't create a .gun, a .drug etc ...
Why don't associate this domain name themself for example
.drug.com.fr for a website saling drug in france ?

If the ICANN choose this way, all the website will have to move their domain name. If they don't , do not resole their IP with the DNS.

It's an obligation now to have a world law about the way to use this extension. But i think the problem is politic.
The ICANN can't decide alone for the rest of the world. Her job is not to product a world law, so who ? dunno yet.

Think about the way to mix the domain name, you will find the answer for all the people on earth.

Fight the good fight! .xxx will be approved one day. The arguments proposed are not justified. I hope that rational thought will eventually rule the day that .xxx will be approved.

1. Any content that you could ever possibly find on .xxx is ALREADY on the internet. period. Please read and re-read this sentence until you understand it completely.

*having said this, should not content that is deemed inappropriate by the governing body as .xxx also be removed this minute just because it hides behind .com or a .net? ABSURD!

2. This is censorship and politics. The powerhouse porn sites do not want competition taking away from their profits. The jesus freaks and grandmas think that they should decide what is decent. There is an old saying, if you don't like what is on the TV, change the channel or turn it off...

As long as it is not completely immoral- i.e. kids, dogs, or violence- (and this stuff is again, already on the web) it is fair game to be posted.

Why don't we let these groups decide what should not be allowed on the internet now that are behind .com and .net and start taking down the existing sites that offend special interest?

3. No one ever believed that existing sites would have to move their .com domains. They are free to keep their domains. Period. It would never be able to be enforced.

In the prior vote on .xxx in May 2006, see:

http://www.icann.org/minutes/minutes-10may06.htm

Paul Twomey voted against .xxx. This time, he abstained. It might be informative if Mr. Twomey would disclose the reasons for his abstention, to avoid speculation.
